Pacman victory party
On June - 7 - 2011Lifestyle column
The roads surrounding the Corinthian Gardens clubhouse were filled with cars as well wishers trooped to the exclusive subdivision to celebrate with the Pambansang Kamao, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. The clubhouse was filled to the brim of those very important people who celebrated with Manny for the honor he has once again brought to the country.
Delicious food was catered for the party, ranging from Pasta Penne, Chilean seabass with hollandaise sauce with broccoli, roasted cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. The poached salmon was very good and was smothered with sauce tinged with herbs. Huge tiger prawns were sauteed in garlic and butter. Guests were serenaded by Mark Velasco and company.
It was a night of entertainment extravaganza as funny man Arnel Tuco and Korean host and radio personality Grace Lee hosted the program. They introduced the next entertainer, Aiza Seguerra, whose voice was a force to reckon with. She sang her classic songs with a guitar. Reggae band Brown Man Revival was led by their lead singer Dino as they made the crowd groove to the reggae beat! Shakol was a crowd favorite and was especially liked by the Pacquiao family.
Jinkee Pacquiao, in her alluring Azzadine Alaia black laced dress, was seen clapping to Shakol’s music, especially when they sang “Bakit bakit pa”. Imago also jammed that night to show its appreciation for Manny’s victory for the Philippines. Faith Cuneta, in her violet top, sang on stage in her crystal clear voice the song “Bakit labis kitang mahal”. Hmmm. Maybe it was dedicated to Jinkee and Manny?
Another crowd favorite was True Faith! And the big bonus was when beauty queen and Miss Universe first runner up herself, Miriam Quiambao, went up the stage to jam with True Faith with the song “Perfect.” What a treat!
From the back, it was hard to tell Jinkee from her twin sister Janet because both have very similar fashion styles, and they are probably one pair of identical twins who really look alike! But wow! Jinkee rocked her Alaia dress. She tells me that she and Dr. Vicki Belo have stopped wearing the Herve Leger dresses because they are being worn by everyone else! Next favorite designer is Alaia. She paired her dress with Yves Saint Laurent Tribute shoes. Love the style!
Governor Chavit Singson brought out a fantastic cake and Wander Woman was lucky enough to be able to take a photo of it. You see, when Manny is in the room, it is very hard for one to take a photo with him because every single person wants a piece of him. So to be even close to him is impossibility, unless of course you are President Pinoy, or hmmm Wander Woman! But it can happen because Manny is one of the most gracious personalities I have seen. I am sure he would rather eat, but he understands that everyone wants a photo with him. It is close to impossible to be able to eat properly. His popularity is immense!
His colleagues in Congress came. Vice President Jejomar BInay also came to congratulate him. A bunch of people from show business was also there. What can i say? I think every Filipino is just so proud of Manny. But please, he is not the answer to poverty in the Philippines. Just adore him for what he is good at — amazingly good boxing skills, incredibly generous, has the Philippines’ best interest at heart. Mabuhay ka, Manny!!
