beautiful uma paro Bhutan

I have always been fascinated by the kingdom of Bhutan. How can one be not when it was rated by BusinessWeek Magazine as the happiest country in Asia and the eight-happiest in the world? It was Bhutan's former king Jigme Singye Wangchuck who coined Gross National Happiness as an indicator that measures quality of life or social progress instead of Gross Domestic Product, which only measures a country's economic well being. It has changed even other people's perception of what is truly important in life. Bhutan, you amaze me.

My family is staying at Como Hotels' Uma Paro Bhutan,a luxurious boutique hotel by the famous Como Hotels group led by its husband and wife team of Ong Beng Seng and fashionable Christina Ong. I remember walking into the Metropolitan Bangkok years ago being so amazed with the design and attention to detail. Their hotels are not just all-hype- service is legendary. They own 10 Four Seasons hotel and run Parrot Cay in Turks & Caicos, Como Shambala Estate, the Metropolitan London, among other uber luxurious properties. One can go on day walks, camping treks, monasteries, the must-see Tiger's nest. Yoga retreats are also offered at the boutique hotel. Beautiful property just like the rest of Como's hotel portfolio. With this, I leave you a quote-something to ponder upon. =)
"You don't become happy by pursuing happiness. You become happy by living a life that means something."
GOD LOVES YOU!
